A graduate of Illinois State University, Cort began his career in the financial industry with Edward Jones in 1980. After years of being a top producer at Edward Jones, Cort founded Cheney Investment Group in 1998 and helped assemble an excellent team of advisors and staff — the group that reorganized to form Cornerstone Financial in 2004. Cort specializes in helping his clients plan for retirement and for their children’s and grandchildren’s college education, and truly enjoys using his almost 40 years of experience to help clients pinpoint their goals and make wise financial decisions.
Cort’s personal interests include playing pickleball and golf and participating in ministry groups including Young Life and Operation Christmas Child. In their free time, Cort and his wife, Susan, enjoy spending time in their second home in The Villages, FL.
